PraksaMonitor - Digital Platform for Student Practical Training

Overview

Practical training plays an important role in connecting academic education with real-world professional experience. However, organizing this process requires coordination between students, academic staff, and employers, each with different responsibilities and expectations.
For the University of Montenegro, we developed PraksaMonitor, a centralized web platform designed to support practical training throughout its entire lifecycle.
From creating training plans and assigning students to documenting daily activities and evaluating their progress, the platform connects the key stages of practical training within a single digital environment.

Challenge 

The main challenge was developing a system that could accommodate the different responsibilities of students, academic mentors, company coordinators, and university administrators while keeping the process simple and accessible.
Students needed a clear overview of their training assignments, schedules, and responsibilities, along with an easy way to document completed activities.
Academic mentors and company coordinators required tools to monitor student progress, review submitted work, and provide structured evaluations.
University administrators needed centralized oversight of practical training across study programs, students, and partner companies.
The platform also needed to connect with existing university records, ensuring consistency between student information, subjects, and academic programs.

Solution

We designed and developed a role-based web application that connects the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of student practical training.
The platform provides dedicated interfaces for different user groups, ensuring that students, mentors, company coordinators, and administrators can access the information and tools relevant to their responsibilities. Students can view their training plans and schedules, record daily activities through digital training diaries, and upload supporting documentation. Academic staff can create training plans, assign students, organize schedules, and monitor their progress. Mentors and company coordinators can review submitted activities and evaluate student performance using configurable evaluation forms. Integrated messaging and notifications facilitate communication between participants, helping them stay informed about assignments, activities, and responsibilities throughout the training process. The platform also supports company management and synchronization with the university's existing academic system, keeping relevant student, subject, and study program records connected. Reporting dashboards provide an overview of participation, completed activities, and practical training progress, with options to export information in PDF and Excel formats. By connecting these processes, PraksaMonitor creates a centralized digital environment for managing practical training from start to finish.

Impact

PraksaMonitor is actively used to support the daily coordination and management of student practical training at the University of Montenegro.
The platform provides a shared digital record of training activities, allowing students to document their work, mentors to review and evaluate progress, and university administrators to access consolidated information and reports. By bringing training plans, schedules, activity diaries, communication, and evaluations together, the system reduces fragmented administration and improves visibility into the practical training process. PraksaMonitor demonstrates how purpose-built software can support educational institutions in organizing complex processes involving multiple stakeholders, while creating a more structured and transparent experience for everyone involved.
