Challenge 

Having identified this problem, we started thinking about the solution and what we could do. Our solution had to be easy to use for both service workers who are entering the data and vehicle owners who access it. Another point we discovered was that the vehicle shouldn’t be tied to the user’s account since the owner could change. Also, that would lead to the required registration or login, which can make a fast on-the-go check harder than it should be.

Solution 

We came up with a custom solution that uses QR codes that are stuck on the vehicle, usually under the hood. When scanned, the webpage immediately pops up and displays the vehicle details with all the service actions that have been done and those recommended by the workshop specialists. All the service actions contain details about the work that’s been done and, most importantly, attached photos that the mechanic took during the process. Also, there are sections for used parts, additional notes, and optional fields for the price. 

Impact

The application was released a year ago and is used by a major yacht service company based in Montenegro. Their clients love to have all the service actions performed on their vessels, while the service employees love to keep track of all the actions in one single, centralised system.
